Hi Girls,
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL, and your families, and thank you
for all the lovely Christmas cards.
The Mayflower Dinner, which is on Saturday 5th February:
Come on please don't let me down - I have booked for 40, and the tickets are going very slowly.
Mayflower Skittle night - Saturday 26th February - tickets £12 each.
This could be the last one as tickets are not selling!
Obviously the first quarter of a year is not a good time to put on events, as interest is almost nil!
We thought you might enjoy something other than "usual meeting evenings" but maybe you just want more of the same.
Hopefully Mayflower will not lose too much money.
Also this could be the last Mayflower mag, as I will
not be cobbling together any more. If the worst comes to the worst,
then we will just print the dates page.
As you know, I am not standing for chair at the AGM on the 25th March
2005. That also means I will not be editor of the Mayflower Mag. Ann
and myself have put in a lot for the Mayflower for far too long, and
now it is time for someone else to take over and inject some new blood
into it and move forward into a new era.
Please don't think badly of me, this decision has not come easily. For
the past few years Mayflower has been my life. When I was first elected
chair we only had 11 meetings a year. I think I have moved the transgender
scene in the South more into the public eye, and have given our members
a variety of outlets for them to express their inner selves. I am proud
of what I have achieved and believe that the Mayflower is one of the
top Transgender Clubs in the country. Let's keep it that way. Remember
the club is only as good as its members.
